A Weekend of Celebrations!
This past weekend, Evan and I went home to celebrate multiple exciting things with our families! My youngest sister celebrates her Sweet 16 today, so we had a dinner party for her with our extended family. Complete with color scheme and photo spot, we did our best to make her birthday as special as possible, considering she won’t be able to have a traditional birthday party. Her and I have very similar aesthetic tastes, so planning her party was an absolute blast! Meredith is a book worm if I’ve ever met one, so we centered all the decor around books and her color scheme of light blue, gold, and white. Gathering decor for her party required multiple HomeGoods runs, which you know I am always game for! Overall it was a beautiful, special night and she seemed to love it!
After those festivities on Saturday night, we drove down to Virginia Beach to surprise Evan’s sister for her ENGAGEMENT! Connor and Cali we are absolutely thrilled for you!! Connor and Cali attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, so that is where Connor proposed! After the proposal, there was a brunch with their close friends at NEST Kitchen and Taphouse, which is where we showed up to surprise her! Evan and Cali are incredibly close, so I am so glad we were able to make it to their special day! (Also, NEST was delicious if you’re ever in search of a Brunch place in that area! The table got the mimosa bucket, YUM!, and I had the pancakes, which were both giant and delicious!) After brunch, we headed to one of their friend’s houses for a surprise after party with more of their friends. They had the cutest decorations set up, along with more snacks and champagne! And at the end of the party, we got to meet Cali’s friend’s new pup, a mini golden doodle, which happens to be one of my dream dogs! Let’s just say I was slightly obsessed….
Overall, the weekend was so incredibly special, and I am so glad we were able to spend this time with our families! While COVID has totally shifted how our last year of college has panned out, being able to have the flexibility to go home and celebrate these moments with our families is something I am so incredibly grateful for.
