For the Hokie Graduates
To the Class of 2020:
I hope this finds you in a safe and healthy place. None of us ever imagined this is how your senior year would come to a close. None of us wanted this to be the way your senior year came to a close. Unfortunately, however, this is reality. Instead of this being a post about my first grads of the season, this is a collection of our beautiful campus, absolutely empty. Nothing I say can help to ease the pain and frustration I am sure you are experiencing, but I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in over the past four years, all the late nights at the library, getting up early to make it to those 8 am classes, working tirelessly to help your organizations run smoothly. Thank you for showing each and every one of us what it means to be a Hokie. Showing Ut Prosim to our community and fellow students is what sets us apart.
There is a light at the end of this tunnel. For most, we don’t quite know what that looks like yet. But that is okay. Now more than ever before, it is okay not to know. Keep your head up knowing you will be able to celebrate with your fellow Hokies sometime in the (hopefully) near future. Your fellow Hokies are here to support you and build you up in this confusing time. We are all so grateful to have been blessed with each of you in our lives.
We are so inspired by your strength and outlook. Together, let’s focus on enjoying the little things each and every day.
xoxo,
Molly
