Morgan's Downtown Senior Session

Shooting with Morgan was an honor to say the least. My little sister is officially grown up and I can’t deny it any more! Morgan has such a bright and cheery spirit, that was something I definitely wanted to reflect in her pictures. She has always loved color, art, and is quite the free spirit. Her pets and her family are also very important to her, so she wanted to incorporate both of these into her shoot as well.

Downtown Richmond ended up being the perfect backdrop to reflect Morgan’s bubbly personality! Her puppy, Ollie, added such a fun component to the shoot! Ollie loves both Morgan and our mom, so I was so excited to capture the beautiful bond between the three of them.

City streets are always so interesting to shoot on because of the variety of backdrops that they provide! Morgan and I had so much fun exploring with my mom and Ollie to find the perfect light while still bringing in fun pops of color and cool details. After all, any time Morgan and I go exploring, it always turns into an adventure (even if it’s just a trip to Target)!

For the second part of Morgan’s session we moved to Monument Avenue, which if you have ever been to Richmond, you know how it has a wide almost park-like median through the middle. It was the perfect combination of greenery and city streets (and perfect for Ollie to enjoy and walk around).

Another incredibly special part of Morgan’s session was that she wanted to recreate some pictures from her childhood. When she was a toddler, she used to twirl everywhere, so we have countless pictures of her spinning around and around and around… Needless to say, it was the perfect way to capture her personality both now, and from when she was a little one.
